VP - Bill Solt - Cocoa Beach, FL

Shipmates,

We survived Irma down here in Cocoa Beach. Beside all of the damage our Public Works folks have 600,000 cubic yards of tree waste to pick up and recycle. No recorded deaths in our county but plenty of damage.

Made Matthew look like a walk in the park.

Getting ready for our reunion in New Orleans yet?

This should be a fantastic trip for everyone. My wife and I have made numerous trips to this wonderful place over the years.

Great food, entertainment, tours and the folks there sure know how to spread that good old southern hospitality.

If you are a “Foodie” New Orleans is the place to be. You will want to sample as much of the local fare as you can. Great restaurants in the French Quarter, Market area, and the Warehouse District.

Make sure you bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes to get around in. If you like a buffet type of meal the Court of Two Sisters on Bourbon Street is the place to go. The Mimosas there are the best.

There are graveyard tours, carriage tours, walking tours or just strike out on your own. As you can see I am throwing out some temptations here.

There is something for everyone in New Orleans and the board would like to make this particular reunion one of the best ever.

For those that haven’t signed up yet please do so as soon as possible and by all means make your hotel reservations early.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there in May.
